BIO

I was born to a large, Irish Catholic Family in Detroit.

I am the youngest of seven. My father, and many of my uncles, served a a police officer in the same city. During the prohibition era, some of the other Hoyes ran speak-easies in the same city.

As a child, I showed a talent for art. In high school and college, I studied painting, printmaking, and gathered awards for some of my work in shows. Eventually, I tired of being creative on my own, partook of theatre, and became a founding member of two bands; both a Celtic ensemble, and a progressive rock band.

I have worked on film and stage roles in Detroit, New York City, and Providence, RI.
My favorite roles have been on stage, as Brendan Behan in a musical version of, "The Brostal Boy," and as Ray Dooley in the Michigan premier of, "The Beauty Queen of Leenane."

I really enjoy playing crazy, Irishmen. I don't know why, but it seems to work well.

When I am not involved in creative projects, I find the time to moonlight as a hypnotist, and am currently posing as a psychology graduate student in Chicago. I am married to a wonderful, Punjabi woman, and occasionally have been known to make a mean curry.

One of my favorite foods and colors is salmon, especially smoked salmon and capers that's washed down with cream stout.
